Love idol music juggernaut AKB48 or hate them, you have to respect the complete craziness of Macross co-creator Shoji Kawamori and prolific anime writer Mari Okada's sci-fi version, AKB0048. Following galactic war and ecological disaster, the remnants of humanity live under a regime that has banned art and music. 48 years later, a new idol group undertakes a terrorist campaign to free the humans.
The second part of the anime tv series, AKB0048 next stage, debuts January 5th.
