Hmm.. I might've responded to that topic at one point or another, but alas, I am far to lazy to see if I did. *shrugs* So I'll respond here and now.

*ahem* Naruto, Bleach, Reborn!, D.Gray-man, Hunter x Hunter, Nurarihyon no Mago , Bakuman, SWOT, Ao no Exorcist, and, yeah.. there ya go.

My favorite would be Death Note for being rather atypical for a Shonen Jump series as fitting into psychological thriller/suspense genre than the standard adventure, fight, or tournament series. Indeed, the anime of Death Note was a gateway series for me, I was pleased that the manga was just as good if not better.

Kind of strange, isn't it? In my opinion, Death Note is too dark and mature with a lot of hard thinking for Shounen Jump. It could almost pass for a seinen.

I thought it was a seinen when I saw the anime. To my limited knowledge, a lot of interest magazines are trying to reach outside their core demographics similar to the way cable channels drift from their original theme. In that respect, it seems to work, since I might not read SJ if it wasn't for Death Note.

I really hate to break it to you, but the Japanese sales ranks beg to differ: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-05-31/top-selling-manga-in-japan-by-series/2011-first-half and http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-05-31/top-selling-manga-in-japan-by-volume/2011-first-half . One Piece is the top selling manga in history. Also see this article: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-05-03/one-piece-no.62-1st-printing-matches-no.61-3.8-million-copy-run. Naruto doesn't even hold a candle to One Piece's sales records.

And my personal favorite Shounen Jump title is Rurouni Kenshin.

Its true that One Piece beats Naruto in terms of sales, thats still because One Piece had stood longer than Naruto.

Ao no exorcist is not even published in shounen jump fyi.... and half of the other ones you guys have mentioned prolly arent even published in shounen jump..
