... sure, and if you don't want to haul your computer to your television and back again, just get a second computer dedicated just to streaming to the TV.
The second computer I use for that comes with a simple remote control, is very compact (no need for a separate screen since it operates straight on the TV), and draws under 12 watts. Its called a "Roku". |

If you use the web to trim back your favorites to those shows you are currently watching, and sort your favorites in the order you want, those are the shows that are up in your "my favorites" box. I put anime I am watching on one side, and dramas on the other, since you can always hop to the opposite end of a list by going left or right "off the end".

While even in the United States there is at least one other city with that name, it would be unlikely for anyone from there to list only the city name as their location. Are you in the Philippines, then? For the Roku, Amazon lists, "This item is also available for shipping to select countries outside the U.S.". |

Yeah and I should add, I got my Roku to play Netflix orginally about three years ago, I LOVE it...also gets Hulu Prim, Amazon Instant View, Pandora (music) and a large choice of great free programing...well worth the cost.

No, I'm actually here in the U.S., it's a small town near the border between Mexico and the U.S., I'll look for it when I get a chance, do you know a good link were I can get a review about the "Roku":) I should probably add that I'm in the U.S. to my profile:P

For user reviews I usually check there, and if it is an electronic/computer item, also at Newegg.com (although Newegg apparently does not sell the Roku boxes). If I had to cite one item I do not like about my XD|S, it is that although it is advertised as having component video output (in addition to HDMI), it requires the use of a special mini-jack cable that is not included, and only seems to be sold by Roku. Some folks that bought the unit for use with an older HDTV that lacks any HDMI input have been stung by this. I feel at the very least they could have included a mini-jack to triple RCA jack dongle. Fortunately, my HDTV has a single HDMI input (already used by my DVD player), and I had a HDMI switch available. sasukeuzi wrote: If you bought a used Roku would it work just as well as a new one, i mean would it still work for me? The Roku has no moving parts, so a used one would be just as good and reliable as any other piece of used solid state electronics. If the previous user has not already done so, you can go into the Settings menu from the main screen and select the Factory Reset, which will put reset any settings that were entered, and put everything back to the default state. |
