Same deal here, since Clannad I have purposely searched for animes and VN's that will make me cry.
My friends watch anime but I cant even make them watch Clannad after story, all they like is the action ones.

I think I can defend shows like Clannad, Kanon, and Cardcaptor Sakura as appealing to both males and females of all ages. That would be a bit of a stretch with these two shows. They are obviously targeted at girls half my age, and yet I still found myself really liking them. If they were available on DVD, I would even consider buying them.
