I just got around to watching 5 cm/s, what do you guys think of it? I thought the first 2 sections were absolutely masterful, the depiction of childhood friends drifting into being in love with eachother was great. Even after that the adolescent nerves, ignorance and heartbreak is something everyones faced at one point or other. Its just when we get to the end, I just... wasnt satisfied. So what, he shared alot of traits with Sato from NHK? They ultimately drifted apart from eachother from the distance? The rest of it is absolutely brilliant, its beautifully animated with almost dream like environments (specifically in the second part). I just want to know what other people think about it because I cant actually make my mind up on if it was even a sad ending or not

I think that, if you really enjoy an anime you should buy the DVD. Not only do you have it in your house, but you also help the creator by giving them money to make more amazing anime!

I know imports are expensive, but jeez. I really want to purchase White Album but my only option are the Blu-Rays, which I'll have to buy in small doses.

Import DVDs aren't much cheaper now, as little as ¥1000 sometimes so you might as well get the best quality and more extras on the Blu - Rays.

Got Shinsekai Yori 2 on New Years Eve, love it in BD, so gorgeous! 52 minutes of extras!

I've been going on an anime spending binge in the last two years now, after neglecting it for years.

For me, I like having a physical copy so if my internet is downn or really slow for whatever reason (usually Steam downloading related, especially whenever a sale goes on), I have something I can watch still.

As far as what I buy, I try to buy complete series sets. I'm not a big fan of buying 4 episodes at a time if I can avoid it. I understand why they're doing it, but for me, aside from the cost, the big thing is I like to do marathon viewings. I still watch new anime shows that come out every season, but for older stuff I try to watch the entire show in a few viewings.

Well the grand total for the White Album Blu-Rays is 668.82 USD or 58,000 Yen, so I'd better save...

I would like to say Yes but I cannot justify buying physical DVD's anymore because they take up too much room and I prefer to watch movies/shows on my comp now. I am using a MacBook Air (no disk drive) so stream from CR or download whatever I want to watch
