Oh, good, Stark 700, you showed the scene with the pen. Very, very poignant frame.
Man, this is the last time I'm viewing CR on GoogleChrome. It's good for translating Japanese into English when need be but sucks on CR. Same post gets put up 3x while all I see are error messages on my side. Oh well, IE8 or 9 works 4 me. |

Episode 11 Left Alone
I knew John Coltrane was the inspiration of " My Favorite Things" jazz version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MPck1zhKpQ&feature=related And the trio practiced briefly piano version of Milestone by Miles Davis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeZomqLM7BQ And when I saw the ending of this episode , my first though was , NOOOOooooo!!!!! they ended there Aaarrgh !!! The worst is yet to come !!! Which got me depressed for a whole week....I have to hang in there . Anyway.....So I guess episode 12 is a combination ending of manga volume 8 and the entire Volume 9? |

Well, I thought this would only be 11 episodes, since it is niotaminA. I guess we get one more... Hope it isn't too sad or rushed.

Damm you Sentaro and now your making Bon break down big time !!The next scene is a heart breaker for me because Kauro will have an emotional breakdown really BIG TIME... Episode 12 ![]() Ahh memories... Well, this is the final episode and the kids graduated. Kaoru does hit a low point in this episode with Ritsuko but it seems that he feels quite guilty and is just trying to avoid thinking about the recent events. 8 years later... Time sure flies fast. This final episode was so-so but still is moving and great to see some of the future of the other characters. Anyways, this been a great series..and noitamina delivers yet once again. One of my favorite series this Spring Season and proud to say it |

I think it was the perfect ending to a great series. I'll definitely get this when it is released in NA.

Gosh... I wish it wasn't over. I'm still struggling with something though...
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide why did Sen leave and not even contact his family or friends after he got back onto his feet? He left his siblings, his family. We all know he loved them dearly, yet he decides to take care of other children but not his own siblings? Why? I understand Sen needed to escape, and in the end it was the best for him, but I can't imagine what his siblings went through. At the very least keep in contact with them when he was stable. I can't even put a positive spin on this. Anyone have an understanding of this? |

It's fairly common. Sen probably still believed that he and his Dad wouldn't get along. So, instead of fighting and upsetting his siblings, it would be better if he left. Then there is also Ri-chan. He probably felt he would be in the way. And then there's his failed romance, the injury of his sister.... All in all, he probably felt he was worthless. It usually takes people a long time to get over self-esteem problems. So, I'm not surprised he didn't contact anyone over the years. These things have a certain momentum and it's hard to overcome that. I wasn't sure though... who wrote the letter at the end? |

Thanks for mentioning it. I am dying to know what it says. |

I can read part of it, but the top half is missing which makes translating the whole thing more than a little difficult. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Looking up the name, I can see that Yuriko wrote the letter. The subtitles are right for the first part: "It has been a long time. How are you?" Other parts that I can make out are: "... I want to tell you (Ritsuko-chan)..." "... a church where my friends were married..." "... photo take of the Catholic priest..." "... doesn't it look like Sentarou?" "... don't know what it's worth..." "... small island where there is a church..." "... Anyway, that's all..." Or at least that's what I think it says. :) |

I think the final episode was perfect, even if the time skip was slightly forced. They could have stretched it out over another episode and explained things better.
But as it is, I stand by my 20 out of 10 stars rating for the series itself. <3 |

actually, for a final episode i give it a 6 out of 10. overall i say 8.5/10. but it prob deserves a 9/10. just not happy with the ending and the tasteless 8 year skip.
i pictured the ending with him walking up the slope being tsunderish about it with sen and riichan or a jam of somesort with everyone. barely any series would make me want to pick up the manga when it ends. this is one of em. |

The final episode was perfectly done for it being a 12 episode series.
There is nothing that they could have done better except extending this series to 24 episodes but they worked with what they had and they did an amazing job! Sen and Karou are just great friends that even after 8 years of not seeing each other they can still have their regular conversations through their jam sessions... best anime of 2012 so far - masterpiece! |

Here's what the subtitle (well, not technically sub, but you know printed out over the original) says. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide It's been a long time. How are you? I'm writing now because there's something I want to tell you, Ritsuko-chan. A friend of mine from back home got married at a church, and in a photo of the ceremony that she sent me, there's a priest who resembles Sentaro-san. I'm not sure of it, but thought it would be worth looking into. The church is on a small island, so it should be easy to find. I just wrote this postcard to let you know. If you find anything out, please write back. Yours truly, Yukari Fukahori |

It doesn't really say anything more than we already know by watching up to that point, but you can see my reply to deadpanditto, for a transcription. |
