I love the Saint Seiya manga I am also a fan of the original series. Ikki is my favorite character, but I also like Seiya as well. So far I have enjoyed Saint Seiya Omega I believe it has a lot of potential. Other thing that has always bothered me was Hyoga's back story ( and techniques) were extremely different in the manga and anime.

Well, for those of you who enjoy Next Dimension, we have the new Leo Gold Saint now:

http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/392513_345841262151605_1468720744_n.jpg

Let me introduce Leo Kaizer, and his armored friend, the Lion named Goldie.

Apparently, Shun arrives, and Kaizer sicks his lion on him. After Shun domesticates it (lol), he reveals the defeated Garuda Suikyou, and tells him to leave. Shun, however, prepares to fight his first Leo Gold Saint.

Dunno about the rest of the chapter, this is all we've got confirmed thus far.

Hello!, I love Saint Seiya too. I have read a lot but until now my favourite part has been the Hades chapters of the original manga, every turn of page was so exciting, a manga full of suprises, I almost had the time of my life there!.

Oh, the Hades chapter was a big moment for the manga. Kurumada hit an all new high with his art, the tension got thick, and they even went to Hell. It was major for the series. It's sad that Japan chose then to start losing interest (which made Kuru have to wrap up the manga early). But, with the interest back, at least we're getting more Saint Seiya: Episode G, The Lost Canvas, Next Dimension, Omega. More Cosmo than you'd ever expect, but it's a good thing.

And yeah, thanks for the images. It seems, from what I've heard of the episode, Shun will be explaining the early events involving Mars, and why the Cloths became what they are today. It's really a much needed bit of backstory. Better 12 episodes in than never.

Ok a bit more info and my thoughts I want to put into the series.

Saint Seiya classic: Masami Kurumada/ 1986

pros

Many likable characters throughout, most notable the gold saints who wish you could see more of.
While some may repeat, the techniques are still really cool.
A great mix of action and drama, there are some great emotional moments in this anime/manga thats makes you more invested in the fights.
A great well developed villain.
A great interesting universe, to the powers they have and the mix of mythos make the world very engrossing.
While it's not nearly as gory as some other mature anime/manga, it is still very bloody and brutal.

Con's

The same con's one would have with Shōnen series, I think I could bring up the faults in DBZ change the names around it would be about the same for SS.

Characters could be more developed.
Not a very good main character.
Only one great main villain in the series, though it dose make up for it in side villains.
Get's repetitive in later arcs.

Overall

This is a good action anime/manga , with a mix of good drama and good characters.
If your like me and enjoy old school anime/manga and your into greek and other mythology's then saint seiya is a must watch/read.

Saint Seiya Next Dimension: Masami Kurumada/2006

Not a lot I can say about it, it's likely not even near halfway done. But from What I read of it, it starts out slow and the art is bad, Thought Later cps both the story and art becomes much better.

Saint Seiya lost canvas: TESHIROGI Shiori/2006

Just going by what I seen from the anime and bits of the manga.

Pros

The art. It looks BEAUTIFIL,the animation and color in fight scenes looks amazing and epic, The design's for the characters and armor are for the most part great. The manga art is good as well.

Great side characters. The main villains are good, some have interesting character depth and backstory, some don't have much of stroy to them, but still manages to be fun characters with great fight scenes.

Con's

Starts out slow.

The three main characters are just not that interesting and as cool as the gold saints are, They don't last long enough to get very attached to them.

Overall

Like the original, it's a great action anime, if your not into old school shonen and prefer modern ones you should check this series out over the rest.

Saint Seiya EP G:2003/Megumu Okada/Masami Kurumada

Going by from what little I read in English for this

Pros

The art. Thought some would be put off by i at first, reading it you can see it's very detailed, the techniques look cool, while the other series uses a attack that just shows lights this series go's into detail on how the attacks look and work.

The fighting, this series without a doubt has the best action in all of the series.

Main character Leo. I can't say that hes the best main character this series has ever had yet but hes no doubt the smartest and most developed.

Almost all the characters are likely, and every gold saint in the original has at lest one badass scan.

Cons

Some would be put off by the art and even I don't like many of the faces.

Villains while all badass and interesting, Don't seem like very developed characters.

Might be focusing more on action then drama, making it seem more like dbz then saint seiya.

first impressions. I think it's a great series and my second fav so far, It's a bit more serious then the others and it's ussually the one I suggest to people that don't read shonen.

If you really want to continue The Lost Canvas, I recommend checking out the manga, as the Lost Canvas OVA only covered the first 90 or so chapters out of a batch of over 220 (not counting the Gaidens that are coming out to tell stories of the various Gold Saints).

And chapter 45 of Next Dimension is out. A bigger threat is apparently coming, as Tenma wins over Goldie. Meanwhile, Ikki reveals he knows the truth behind the Gemini Saints, and Cain mentions that the mischief of the gods might be behind it.

The madness of the Gemini Saints was always interesting to me. And we got some good images to visualize it.

The only Saint Seiya I've watched is the currently airing Omega Series - i originally only watched this because it reminded me in looks of Heartcatch Precure, but the show has really grown on me and I look forward to new episodes every week

Well, it's been a while, but I'm always glad to bring a new preview of a manga I love (just had to remember I made this topic here, lol):

Seems Shiryu is back!...and Shunrei is holding a Baby?! Shiryu's kept busy it seems...and Hyoga and Shiryu are fighting about something? Maybe he wants to retire...but no time for that, the Angel Touma returns! Less flashback time travel shenanigans, more future fighting and story progression. That's definitely not a bad thing.

Color preview for the next batch of ND chapters. Shiryu might well still be blind, but he carries a big stick! Still, against an Angel, that might not mean much. Meanwhile, Virgo Shijima continues to tend to the infant Athena while he's injured, trapped in the Labyrinth of the Gods. And I notice at least one scene of Garuda Suikyou. So, we've got a little bit of everything going on, it seems.

ND is returning to Shonen Champion in December. Here's the cover of the magazine with a full color Shiryu, for his return! Love seeing his tattoo in full color.

I must say, the first time I saw Goldie in full color, I hoped they would put out a Myth Cloth for him, lol. I'd put that figure on my desk Bandai!

The ND chapters finally continued, dealing with both Shiryu's ordeals in the future, and with Suikyou trying to get through the Virgo Temple in the past (just like the Omega Bronze Saints are right now, lol). The timing has to be intentional, like when Omega introduced Leo Mycenae at around the same time Kurumada introduced Leo Kaiser.
