I probably should note the Hulu link for Vividred Operation in the CR section, as it does allow free viewers to select 480p vs. 360p for CR's free video (and anyone that had a Hulu Plus sub but lacked a CR sub could view on devices and in 720p). I haven't checked, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is also available on Crackle.

I don't see it on Crackle, and the recent Vividred advert at Anime News Network only included Crunchyroll and Hulu links.

They may have decided Crackle does not add enough to their simulcasts to make it worthwhile, especially now that Crunchyroll has PS3 and XBox channels.

In their Haganai NEXT announcement, it also said that there would be a "few" more simulcast announcements. Presumably that includes Hetalia, but there are very few shows left. GJ-bu is the only full length, non-sequel, non-kids show I see left, is there anything else left?

"A few more" would definitely mean more than one in anyone's book (but to me, implies at least 3).

Except for Hetalia: The Beautiful World, here is what currently has no simulcast:

Monchicchiisu (kid's anime, only a few minutes per episode)
Kokoro Connect Michi Random (episodes 14-17 of a CR simulcast)
Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Alternative TWO: Kobayashi Opera to Koku no Ogarasu (single episode special, aired on December 31)
Nekomonogatari (Kuro) (4 episode special, all aired on December 31)
Minami-ke Tadaima
Line Offline Salaryman (TV Tokyo short, aired 3 episodes per week)
Jigoku Youchien (Nico Nico series, only 1 minute per episode)
GJ-bu
Ganbare! Oden-kun (children's anime, 5-15 minutes per episode)
Beast Saga (16 minutes per episode)
Ganbare! Lulu Lolo (episodes every weekday, appears to be children's anime)
Dokidoki! Precure (I would be shocked if anyone, much less Funimation, simulcast a Precure series)
Chokkyuu Hyoudai Robot Anime (15 minute episodes)

The only other likely candidate I see other than GJ-bu is Minami-ke Tadaima. That said, Funimation did surprise me with Puchim@s. I might put Chokkyuu Hyoudai Robot Anime on the list as a long chance.

Perhaps Funimation wants to stream the latest Precure series? It's from Toei which Funimation has a good relationship with. I suppose there is always the chance of GJ-bu or Minami-ke Tadaima or that robot show that premieres in February. There is also the slim chance that Funimation got Jojo's Bizarre Adventure(which would be a simulcast according to Funimation standards) and they just chopped off the ED(I would be shocked if Yes gave them permission to use "Roundabout"). That would be one way to competiting with CR's Little Busters! annoucement

But yeah, Hetalia is a given.

I notice they have another announcement Friday, but I have my doubts they will announce Hetailia a week before it could start, so perhaps they'll also have GJ-bu.

I note for Minami-ke Tadaima they stated, "First episode goes up tomorrow morning!", which appears to imply only one episode. If they don't catch up later, that would put them a day shy of 2 weeks behind on it.

Yeah, Funimation doesn't usually do slice-of-life comedies but I suppose this helps them keep up their simulcasting presence through Winter(I think Spring will have them increasing their simulcasting numbers).

Meanwhile back in AoD land.......

Sasami-san@Gambaranai pushed back to Monday 21st 16:30 GMT

No sign of the other series. Which means Crunchyroll will have released 3 episodes of Maoyu before AoD has even managed one......

The North American anime distributor FUNimation Entertainment announced on Thursday that it will stream the Hetalia The Beautiful World, the fifth anime series inspired by Hidekaz Himaruya's Hetalia manga. (Note: link can only be accessed by Elite subscribers.) Funimation noted that the simulcast should begin near the end of the month.

This fifth anime season will premiere in Japan on January 25.

The Hetalia announcement on the EVS forum said that it was the "final" announcement, whereas yesterday's news post about the Minami-ke simulcast said that there would be multiple announcements today. Guess we'll find out which is right soon enough.

Thanks for the info. I'll need to remember to include that in the next update (coming a bit later).

AoD...making Funimation look speedy.

This doesn't bode well for when they return to being a paid service next season. There also the problem of promotion. Anyone visiting their site would have no information on the announced simulcasts (the news section's last post is from September 2012), and even browsing the catalog would reveal only Sasami-san@Gambaranai as an upcoming title (while also incorrectly still showing Tamko Market as "Coming Soon").

The new article they posted a few minutes ago begins with, "We've saved the best for last.", so I believe that clinches it; the plural in yesterday's news article was an error.

The question is, what it a simple grammatical error, or did Funimation think they had another contract lineup up, but it fell through at the last moment? I suspect the former.

Updates to initial message:

Added information on announced Funimation simulcast of Hetalia: The Beautiful World.
Noted Funimation has completed their simulcast announcements.
Revised premiere date for Anime on Demand's announced simulcast of Sasami-san@Ganbaranai!.
Changed "Announced The Anime Network Simulcasts" to "TAN (The Anime Network) Simulcasts" as both have now premiered.

Here's a definite sign that Vividred Operation is going be a beast in sales for Winter: episode 1 got a 3.7% rating(that would be a good rating for a daytime anime, and is fantastic for a late night anime.)
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-01-19/director/vividred-operation-no.1-gets-3.7-percent-rating

As somebody at ANN pointed out, that rating is higher than what the finale of Madoka got.

It is also in the same neighborhood as Hunter x Hunter pulls in, and not too far from ratings for some episodes of Naruto Shippuden.

For a late night anime, that is definitely in the "Wow!" category.

Last season they didn't upload Chuu2 for more than a month, before uploading the first 5 episodes at once. But yes, CR's predictability for me is one of its big advantages over just about anyone else. I've still only had one time on here when an episode wasn't released at the scheduled time. In comparison, last season AoD probably got out about 2 or 3 episodes all season that were on time and without any flaws (sub-free episodes appeared quite frequently, along with a couple with oddly formatted subs and one episode of Busou Shinki that spent its first few days subtitled in French).

Still, I'd rather have them than have to resort to fansubs for a series.
