Am I the only one who enjoyed it only cause I love tanks like crazy D;
I thought it wasn't that bad it was the 1st episode, something tells me it'll gradual get better over time. Looking forward the tank battles, not a huge fan of CG animation but it works out very well for this type of anime.

It started fairly slow and the German words slowed my reading down a bit, but overall it was worth the watch. I think these shows sometimes need a little fanservice to keep it interesting for more than just the tank/military otaku.
I actually liked the propaganda video. It was supposed to be just like a WWII enlistment video except for girls. I figure if the author was okay with that premise I can take it as ironic or humorous as well.
That ending scene was pretty surprising.

I like the premise of the show but the way how they customize and command their tank made me raise my eyebrow. Miho Nishizumi should be an experienced tanker but she sticks her head out of the cupola like a damn amateur during a tank battle.

Was no one else bothered by the girls 2 friends? One minute they support her, then the next they try to convince her aftering seeing a horribly obvious propaganda video on why... tanks... make women... more womenly.....
The girl has an episode in class over it and then they selfishly try to get her into it. The show tried to make up for the stupidness by making them very adamant about her not wanting to join, willing to risk expulsion, which, again, the student council being controlled by a way too power hungry lovin' pre-teen lolita is... gaah.
I love moe, I love cute girls, Idol Master was wonderful, Liked Dog Days, even sat through Shugo Chara, but I can sense the bi-polar this show is building up.
Terrible first episode, nothing was really explained, no questions were even ASKED. We don't know anything besides this is a Strike Witches knock off.
Oh, and they're on a giant ship. Which explains why... they need tanks? o.0

That's a great defense for a show being bad. Who cares if the plot is retarded, that the characters interactions are unbelievable, or the setting is put up badly. Yea, none of that matters because the show is drawn.

Great defense, since the show is drawn, who cares if the setting, plot, character interactions and character profiles are crap. Least we get to see cute girls driving tanks and being moe.
But really, learn to take criticism, since that's all I'm really giving. Pointing out the obvious that anime doesn't = realism is just a fanboy attempt to derail my words.

And that's exactly what the show has billed itself as. To expect anything different is to mislead yourself regarding what the show intended.

I've got no problem with criticism. I just think you are barking up the wrong tree. To expect a good story, realistic characters and smart writing from this show is like expecting an action film to get the next Academy Award for Best Picture. It's not impossible, but it is highly unlikely.

I can take criticism. All was pointing out is that I think you are barking up the wrong tree. This was never intended to be a deep show. If you've seen Upotte! you'd know what to expect. To expect that this show has an excellent plot, great characters, and smart writing is like expecting an action film to win the next Academy Award for Best Picture. It's not impossible, but it is highly unlikely.
This show is best enjoyed with your brain in the off position. |
